The Department of Communications (DoC) in collaboration with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and SENTECH, will be switching on a low power transmitter in the community of Tjakastad in the Municipality of Chief Albert-Luthuli, Mpumalanga Province.
The roll-out of the low power transmitter broadcasting infrastructure is part of the department’s commitment to provide broadcasting services to all communities. The SABC plays a key role in ensuring universal service and access to South Africans working tirelessly towards making broadcasting services available to communities.
The low power transmitter will provide SABC 1, 2, 3 and Ligwalagwala FM to the community of Tjakastad, which is home to approximately 12,000 people.
