The Gauteng Department of Health and Social Development in partnership with Gauteng Taxi Council will be embarking on a road safety campaign tomorrow at the Vereeniging Civic Centre Taxi Rank.
Themed, Safety on the road through health lifestyle, the campaign aims to alert drivers on health conditions that can lead to road fatalities. It also aims to highlight the importance of regular medical check-ups before embarking on long trips.
Health workers will be educating taxi drivers and passengers on health matters as well as screening them for conditions like hypertension, diabetes, eyesight, and cholesterol.
