The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) will from next week, 26 to 30 March 2012, host the sixth session of the Sub-committee on Aquaculture of the Committee on Fisheries (COFI) of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN (FOA).
The Sub-committee provides a forum for consultation and discussion on aquaculture, and advises COFI on technical and policy matters related to aquaculture as well as on the work to be performed by FAO in the field of aquaculture.
This event will be attend by around 250 international and local delegates, including government ministers, senior government officials, civil society and international organisations that are intimately involved in the development and promotion of this sector.
