Cross Border Taxi Operators Conference

Director-General of the Department of Transport Mr George Mahlalela will deliver the keynote address at the Cross Border Taxi Operators Conference in Centurion, Pretoria tomorrow.

The Director-General will be joined by the CEO of the Cross Border Road Transport Agency (CBRTA) Mr. Sipho Khumalo, senior transport officials and industry experts to deliberate on issues affecting their everyday operations.

The ground-breaking conference will address challenges facing the taxi industry in transporting commuters in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region and its contribution to socio-economic development. The Conference will focus on various issues affecting the industry including:

  • Developing a coordinated approach on cross border road transport taxi operations.
  • Facilitating cross border road transport efficiently and contributing to improved market access and regional economic growth.
  • Raising awareness and promoting the Cross Border Road Transport Agency (CBRTA) as a leading regulator within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.
