CRL Rights Commission's official launch and the handing over of the male initiation report to the stakeholders for implementation

The CRL Rights Commission embarked on process of conducting public hearings along with subsequent research expeditions in seven provinces which culminated into a comprehensive report which covered most of the critical proposals and aspirations of communities with regard to the future of male initiation schools in South Africa.

Stakeholders such as the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) and the National House of Traditional Leaders (NHTL) assisted the Commission in process. Through this report the Commission’s objective is to reduce unabated deaths and botched circumcision schools that are taking place in country and to ensure that initiation custom is well protected and promoted.
