The Department of Correctional Services will be hosting the National Corrections Excellence Awards (NCEA) ceremony at the East London International Convention Centre on the 17 February 2012. The awards will be held to honour and celebrate the service excellence of ideal correctional officials who have beated the drum for service excellence in the department serving the public service throughout the 2010/11 financial year.
The night of the National Corrections Excellence Awards is the most eagerly awaited event by all officials for its glitz and glamorous offerings and officials dress up in garments to match. On the night, individuals and teams that won the regional legs on the excellence awards including the head office, battle it out for national prestige and the recognition of being National Corrections Excellence Awards ambassadors.
Individuals battle it out for national prestige in six categories namely, Education and Training Award (New award for regions only), Batho Pele Award, Good Governance Award, Masibambisane Award with the sixth being the Mlombile Award which is awarded posthumously to those that passed on in the line of duty as ideal correctional officials.
The groups vie for the Minister’s Award, Minister’s Special Education and Training Award, Deputy Minister’s Award and the National Commissioner’s Special Award.
