The Correctional Services Deputy Minister, Ms Hlengiwe Mkhize, will tomorrow, Friday, 25 September, talk to offenders about offender rights and custodial conditions at the Grootvlei Correctional Centre. The Inspecting Judge, Mr Justice DH Van Zyl, will join Deputy Minister Mkhize for the inspection, as part of the Corrections Week which started Monday, 21 September.
After a tour of correctional facilities, the Deputy Minister and the Inspecting Judge will address key stakeholders of Correctional Services, offenders and correctional officials on the challenges of South Africa's corrections system and the Judicial Inspectorate for Correctional Services.
