The Business Adopt-a-Municipality (BAAM) seeks to foster a closer working relationship between government, private sector and State Owned Entities (SOEs) towards supporting vulnerable municipalities.

It seeks to encourage private companies to adopt a municipality, enter into a MoU and together develop an implementation plan to assist such a municipality to improve infrastructure development, deal with governance challenges and address issues of local economic development (LED) while at the same time contributing to job creation and provision of critical skills.

Media is to join the panel as they:

  • unpack the initiative of BAAM
  • List the Municipalities that will be adopted and their challenges
  • The kind of support that the municipalities receive, and
  • The reasons on choosing those Municipalities
