The government of South Africa in Association with the government of the United Kingdom and the World Health Organisation (WHO) will co-host a parallel round table session on Climate Change and Health at the COP17 Conference in Durban, South Africa. The objectives of the session are to:
- provide an update on the latest science and knowledge on adaptation priorities and processes and health co-benefits from climate change mitigation policies
- profile case studies of countries to show innovative ways of responding to climate change
- discuss how to ensure that health, climate change and sustainable development policies are effectively linked
- agree to a summary statement.
