Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (CoGHSTA)- South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) partnership to uproot poverty

On 20 September 2011 (Tuesday) - The MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs Mr Soviet Lekganyane together with Mr Victor Ravhuanzwo – Regional Manager of South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Limpopo invites all media houses to a celebrity build a house as Talelani Ntshegezeni Andries Mamphondo and Johannes Mudau will each be handed a two fully - furnished modern 3 bed roomed houses at Lwamondo Village in Thulamela Local Municipality, the event will take place at rovers sports ground at 11h00.

This follows after an amalgamation and everlasting mutual agreement between the Limpopo Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs together with the SABC to improve lives and build houses for the needy families through the celebrity build a house programme.

The effort comes after a thorough recognition to improvise the lives of disadvantaged people. The aim therefore is to strengthen the public private people partnership in which media representatives partners with the national and provincial Department of Human Settlements to deliver quality service and build houses for the deprived entities.

The union saw an equitable number of disadvantaged beneficiaries receiving quality houses. The family headed by Mr Talelani Ntshengezeni Andries, a disabled father who survives on a social grant, has been sharing a one roomed shack with six other dependents for so long on the other hand, the family headed by Johannes Mudau has survived on social grant for a long time and getting such help ensures future service delivery to the people of Limpopo who are in similar situations.
