Transport hosts inaugural Truck Driver Safety and Wellness Symposium, 7 Mar

Inaugural truck driver safety and wellness symposium to advocate for road safety and wellbeing of truck drivers 

The National Department of Transport will be hosting the inaugural Truck Driver Safety and Wellness Symposium on Thursday, 07 March 2024 under the theme, “Your wellness is our concern.” This event marks, the first of its kind and will from Thursday, 07 March 2024 be held annually henceforth.

The Truck Driver Safety and Wellness Symposium will be held to encourage, award and celebrate drivers for their unwavering commitment to execute and ensure seamless and swift operations within the freight logistics industry.

The event will ensure that the department in collaboration with key government departments motivate, pledge support and educate truck drivers about the importance of their safety and wellbeing on the roads.

Symposium will also promote truck drivers’ safety on the road as well as that of other motorists, majority being truck drivers.
