Trade and Industry hosts seminar on liquor abuse in South Africa, 29 Jul

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) invites you to a seminar on how to curb liquor abuse in South Africa.

Liquor abuse is prevalent in South Africa, particularly among the youth, with very serious socio-economic consequences. the dti invites you as the liquor industry stakeholder, survivor of liquor abuse, academic, researcher, non-profit organisation, specialist in the health and social development environment and other role player to share your views on why we need better controls to combat liquor abuse.

The seminar will discuss why the age limit for liquor consumption should be increased from 18 to 21 years; the proposal to restrict liquor advertising and prohibition of sponsorship as well as discuss approaches to combat liquor abuse in South Africa.
