Africa’s Travel Indaba will take place from 8 to 10 May 2018 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban. Themed, “Africa’s Stories, Your Success”, the platform will afford delegates from around the world a chance to acquaint themselves with the 21 exciting travel experiences on offer on the continent, and to engage with a view of forging dynamic tourism partnerships.
Africa’s Travel Indaba also offers industry players and its stakeholders an opportunity to meet and engage on the challenges and opportunities that affect the advancement of tourism on the continent.
The Department of Tourism will host the following events prior and during Africa’s Travel Indaba 2018, and members of the media are invited:
IORA workshop on Coastal and Marine Tourism: Deputy Minister Elizabeth Thabethe will address member states of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) at a workshop aimed at identifying opportunities for entrepreneurship and best practices concerning the advancement of Coastal and Marine Tourism on the African continent.

5th Indaba Ministerial Session: Themed, “Integrated Regional Tourism – A Tool For Economic Development,’ the event will afford African Ministers, key industry players and tourism stakeholders an opportunity to deliberate on how regional and continental cooperation can address the challenges that stunt the growth and sustainability of tourism on the African continent.

Inaugural Tourism Investment Seminar: Minister Derek Hanekom will address delegates at the inaugural Tourism Investment Seminar. National Tourism Careers Expo (NTCE) networking session: The North West Province will host the NTCE in partnership with the Department of Tourism and CATHSSETA from 28 to 30 September 2018. The networking session will provide insight to industry players on how they can support and participate in the NTCE.
