Premier Modise hosts Mahikeng Airport City roundtable
North West Premier Thandi Modise will be hosting a roundtable discussion with key industry and government stakeholders on the repositioning of Mahikeng towards an Airport city at the Mmabatho Palms Resort in Mahikeng on Friday 31 January 2014.
The engagement to include overseas investors will also include a site tour of the Mahikeng International Airport where R45 million infrastructure upgrade project is underway for the rejuvenation of the runway, taxiways, apron, landing strip markings, upgrade of the electrical ground landing system and installation of a new 16 element instrument Landing System.
The site tour is to commence at 9h00 to 10h00 before the start of the roundtable at 10h30.
Job creation and empowerment projects to be implemented as part of the Airport City Project include concrete tile and roof sheet manufacturing, fuel farm, solar manufacturing, maize processing and business process outsourcing services.
Members of the media are invited to cover the site tour of the airport, a photo opportunity of the roundtable in session and a media briefing session at 2:00 pm.
