The North West Department of Health is to host a two day HIV Prevention seminar in Mahikeng. The seminar, which is to be attended by delegates from from national government, provincial departments, business and labour sector, aims to explore and share information on the new targeted HIV prevention interventions and to increase collaborative mechanisms that can be effected to address the current challenges that are facing the general public. The HIV prevention seminar also aims to forge partnership with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the HIV prevention interventions reach and benefits all.
South Africa has set itself a target of reducing new HIV infections by 50% next year (2016) as stated in the National Strategic Plan 2012-2016.
