Minister Thembi Nkadimeng and Deputy Minister Parks Tau attend Water Services Authority (WSA) Summit, 18 to 19 Jan

The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Minister Thembi Nkadimeng, and Deputy Minister Parks Tau will attend and participate in the upcoming two-day Water Services Authority (WSA) Summit. The Summit convened by the Department of Water and Sanitation is in response to the outcome of the Blue and No Drop Reports and Green Drop Progress Assessment Report released in December 2023. 

The Summit will bring together key role players such as provincial CoGTA’s and Water Services Authorities as well as municipalities to exchange best practices, share lessons learned and identify areas of collaboration in keeping with the prescripts of the Intergovernmental Relations Framework Act, 2005. 

The anticipated collective action plans resulting from the Summit will go a long way in improving municipal drinking water quality, wastewater management as well as water conservation and demand management. 

The Summit will be held at Emperors Palace, Kempton Park, Gauteng from 18 to 19 January 2024.
