Minister Sihle Zikalala delivers keynote address at Global Africa trade conference in London, 8 Nov

Today at 10am (about 12h00pm, South African time), the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure will deliver a key note address to hundreds of investors from all corners of the globe who are involved in infrastructure finance market, trade and export.

Minister Zikalala is leading a delegation charged with the responsibility of promoting South Africa as an infrastructure investment destination. The Minister is promoting opportunities for investors in mega infrastructure projects from South Africa in the areas of energy, water, digital infrastructure and transport and logistics.  The Minister is engaging the world business community on a number of issues especially the policy environment in investing in the country’s infrastructure projects.

Last night Minister Zikalala met with the UK-South Africa chamber of commerce where he faced grilling questions as they dived into most of the prominent topics such as South Africa’s bureaucracy in decision making, especially the long period it takes to get projects on the ground, the PFMA, localisation and the tender systems.

Minister Zikalala appreciated the engagements as they give a perspective from an international investors eye on how do they see South Africa as an infrastructure investment destination.

Minister Zikalala will look into creating new infrastructure market connections at this unrivalled Africa focused trade and export conference and will seek to build investor confidence.

Members of the media are invited to follow this engagement on Departmental platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and X.
