Minister Ayanda Dlodlo addresses Fifth General Assembly Association of African Public Services Commissions, 13 Mar

PSC to host the Fifth General Assembly of the Association of African Public Services Commissions (AAPSCOMS)

The Public Service Commission (PSC) in its capacity as Secretariat to the Association of African Public Services Commissions (AAPSComs) invites media to the Fifth General Assembly of the AAPSComs to be held on 13-15 March at Emperors Palace, Kempton Park.

The Association of African Public Services Commissions (AAPSComs) was established on 9 April 2008 with membership of twenty (20) African Public Services Commissions representing fifteen (15) countries. The primary purpose of AAPSComs is to collaborate, share experiences and best practices among Public Service Commissions in the continent in order to promote good governance and improve service delivery.

The Fifth General Assembly will be held under the theme “Building and strengthening the capacity of Public Service Commissions to meet the challenges of public administration and service delivery in Africa”. Delegates from 7 different countries, namely, Gambia, Kenya, Lesotho, Mauritius, Namibia, Uganda and Zambia will be in attendance.

Some of the topics to be discussed include: 

  • Continental Challenges on public administration, management and service delivery
  • Promotion of effective leadership and good governance in Africa
  • The Role of African Public Services Commissions in Attaining the Sustainable Development Goals
  • Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as a means and Tool for the Modernization of Public Service Management and Administration in Africa
     

The Minister for Public Service and Administration, Ms Ayanda Dlodlo will deliver the keynote address.
