Third Annual Basic Education Sector Lekgotla set for 21 – 23 January at Birchwood in Benoni

Minister of Basic Education, Mrs Angie Motshekga will host the third annual Basic Education Lekgotla in Gauteng next week. The much anticipated gathering of educational minds will take place from 21 to 23 January 2019, under the theme ‘’Equipping Learners with Knowledge and Skills for a Changing World’’.

Provincial Education Departments, teacher unions, school governing body organisations, learner organisations, NGO’s, academics, as well as international guest speakers, among others will form part of robust three day sessions and commissions.

The Lekgotla brings together key education stakeholders and experts in their respective fields to address some of the challenges facing the sector and provides a platform to further plan for the year ahead. Under this years’ theme, all commissions will place emphasis on the fourth industrial revolution in ensuring our learners have the best possible chance at succeeding in a fast changing global environment.
