Gauteng Roads and Transport hosts Fourth Industrial Revolution and Mobility Conference, 15 Mar

The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport in partnership with the Transport Forum and Intelligent Transport Solutions, will on Thursday, 15 March 2018, host the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Mobility Conference in Midrand.

The objective of the conference is to discuss how the Provincial Government can best integrate the Fourth Industrial Revolution’s smart technologies to plan and deliver services.

It will further discuss ways the provincial government and private sector could jointly define, expand and make popular the debate on the Fourth Industrial Revolution for the greater good of society, province and the country.

MEC Ismail Vadi indicated that this will not be a once-off event as the plan “is to make Fourth Industrial Revolution an integral part of government and private sector planning on a much wider scale and platforms”.

“Unless we integrate Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies as part of the way we run our businesses and take a lead in its development, we will be lagging behind global best practices. We also run the risk of being mere consumers of technologies rather than developers and innovators,” MEC Vadi said.

Details of the conference:

Venue: T-Systems-International Business Gateway, New Road, Midrand
Date: Thursday, 15 March 2018
