On 14 September 2012, the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr J.T. Radebe, announced in the Government Gazette the filling of 127 vacant offices of sheriffs.
All appointments will take effect on 1 December 2012. The newly appointed sheriffs for Gauteng, Limpopo and North West will undergo a week long induction training starting on Monday, 5 November 2012.
The induction workshop co-ordinated by the South African Board for Sheriffs, will be addressed by the Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development.
