Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr Buti Manamela will tomorrow, Monday 23 November address the Frontline Service Delivery (FSD) monitoring workshop.
The Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation established the FSD programme in 2011 in order to improve service delivery especially at frontline level. Monitoring is conducted at hospitals, police stations, licensing departments amongst others.
This is to ensure that South Africans receive services are of a good standard at any service delivery point.
The National Development Plan highlights the significance of frontline services in building an efficient, effective and development oriented public service.
Deputy Minister Manamela has in the past year regularly conducted unannounced visits under the FSD banner and made recommendations that have been implemented.
As such the workshop will then reflect on the implementation of the programme thus far and map out strategies to improve the monitoring mechanism in meeting its core objectives.
