The Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Ms Alexandra Abrahams will address the 14th edition of the Buy Local Summit & Expo on Monday, 16 March 2026.
The two day event is hosted by Proudly South African at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. The Buy Local Summit & Expo attracts over 1 600 delegates, 200 exhibitors, government ministers, entrepreneurs, investors, and funders. One of the key sessions at the Buy Local Summit & Expo is a business matchmaking session, which is a networking session between small and medium-sized businesses and established conglomerates.
This year, the event will shine the spotlight on the adverse impact of illicit trade, the crippling tariff hikes imposed on South African exports to the United States, and the far-reaching impact of the exponential growth of offshore, e-commerce retailers on local industries.
Abrahams is scheduled to address the event as follows:
Date: 16 March 2026
Time: 10:30 am
Venue: Sandton Convention Centre
