The inaugural National Conference on Global Change will be held at the Birchwood Conference Centre, Boksburg, from 26 to 28 November 2012.
Organised by the Department of Science and Technology, with the National Research Foundation and the Department of Environmental Affairs, the conference will be addressed by, among others, Minister Derek Hanekom (Science and Technology), Minister Trevor Manuel (National Planning Commission), and renowned sustainability scientist Prof. Mark Swelling of Stellenbosch University.
The conference will provide a platform for national stakeholders to reflect on the implementation of the Global Change Grand Challenge, and its overall contribution to the country's sustainable development and green economy ambitions.
