The Department of Correctional Services will on Monday, 30 October 2017, host a conference with creative artists at Leeuwkop Correctional Centre in Johannesburg. The conference is aimed at creating a platform for the creative sector to engage with correctional services and explore avenues that will both promote artistry and package the mandate of corrections in different forms.
Expected to attend are film-makers, documentary producers, musicians, visual artists and photo-journalists as the interest to cover correctional matters and stories behind bars is gaining momentum.
