Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) in partnership/collaboration with Kgoshigadi Mothapo of the Ga-Mothapo Traditional Court will hold a workshop on the Traditional Courts Bill (TCB) and the Women Empowerment and Gender Equality Bill (WEGE Bill) with the members of the Ga-Mothapo Traditional Council and members of the community.
It is expected that the Chairperson of the CGE, Mr. Mfanozelwe Shozi and Deputy Chairperson, Ms Thoko Mpumlwana will be in attendance. There will also be representatives from the Department of Women, Children and people with Disabilities.
The workshop was necessitated by the visit done on 09 July 2013 by the CGE team during the observation of proceedings at the Ga-Mothapo Traditional Court.
“We are hoping that the Community of Ga-Mothapo and surrounding areas after this workshop their understanding of gendered matters will be enhanced”, said Mr. Mfanozelwe Shozi, the Chairperson of the Commission for Gender Equality. On the day, two women economic empowerment projects will be visited.
