The Portfolio Committee on Human Settlements will next week, 24 to 29 July 2011 conduct an oversight visit in Mpumalanga. The Committee will work with the provincial and local government leadership of the province. The objective of the visit is to conduct briefing sessions in conjunction with the provincial department and other stakeholders on the implementation of human settlements strategic plans, projects and programmes. The oversight will focus on various key issues.
The Committee also wants the province to brief it on the agreement between the People’s Republic of China and South Africa (through an Exchange of Letters) concerning a housing project consisting of 400 three-bed roomed flats in Graskop.
