Committees to assess implementation of Comprehensive Rural Development Programme (CRDP)

The Portfolio Committees on Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Rural Development and Land reform will conduct an oversight visit in Free State from 25 to 29 July 2011.

The purpose of the visit is to assess progress made so far with regards to the implementation of the Comprehensive Rural Development Programme (CRDP). The visit will also present an opportunity to Members of both Committees to understand the impact of the CRDP on Rural Development and Agriculture.

The visit is the continuation of one that the two committees undertook from 28 February to 4 March 2011 in Limpopo and Northern Cape provinces. Also next week the Portfolio Committee on Basic Education will visit schools in Mpumalanga and North West to assess the state of inclusive education in those provinces.
