Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Police will next week, 26 March to March 30 visit various police stations in the North West province to establish if there are any shortcomings in all the legislations related to police activities.
The aim of the oversight visit is to inspect police stations in the North West province and determine if they are adequately equipped and resourced to execute their mandate. The Committee would also observe, among others, whether policies and procedures are being implemented, and establish whether various pieces of legislation that cover the SAPS are enabling our police services to be effective and efficient in the fight against crime.
