The Portfolio Committee on Arts and Culture will this week conduct oversight visits to museums and graves of liberation struggle stalwarts in KwaZulu-Natal.
The purpose of the visits to these entities, which are managed by the Department of Arts and Culture, is to assess challenges that these entities face and whether they are in line with government priorities. In February this year, President Jacob Zuma announced that the unveiling of museums, homes and graves of struggle heroes, memorial sites and the renaming of the presidential and diplomatic guesthouses, were key priorities in
the arts and culture sector.
