Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs is this week, 26 to 29 July visiting refugee reception offices and a repatriation centre around the Gauteng province.
The purpose of this oversight visit is among others to find out whether the conditions at the reception offices and the Lindela Repatriation Centre are conducive for the humane treatment of the asylum seekers.
This oversight visit will also assist the committee to process the Refugees and Immigration Amendment Bills which may come before it during this financial year.
For more information on areas to be visited please see the programme.
