Committee to visit KwaZulu-Natal’s institutions of higher learning

Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Higher Education and Training will be visiting institutions of higher learning in KwaZulu-Natal this week. The aim of the visit is to assess the state of institutions of higher learning in the province.

Tomorrow, the Committee will visit the University of Zululand in Empangeni and Umfolozi FET College in Richards Bay. On Wednesday, the visit will continue to Umgungundlovu FET College in Pietermaritzburg and to the Central Applications Office in Cato Manor. On Thursday, it will be eThekwini FET College in Asherville and on Friday, the Committee will wrap up its oversight programme by visiting the Mangosuthu University of Technology in Umlazi.

Meanwhile, the Select Committee on Labour and Public Enterprise will this week go on an oversight visit to the Coega Development Corporation in the Eastern Cape to monitor and investigate if the organisation is fulfilling its mandate of meeting government’s outcome of an efficient, competitive and economic infrastructure network.
