Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Communications will tomorrow short-list candidates for the South African Broadcasting Corporation Board.
The Committee has received about 230 nominations from the public. The nominations were invited in July after the dissolution of the 12-member SABC Board. The board had to be dissolved after a Parliamentary inquiry found that it could not carry out its duties. This failure to discharge duties was as a result of a string of resignations from board members. Immediately after the dissolution, the Committee appointed an interim board.
