Mandela Day Celebration: “Take Action – Inspire Change – Make Everyday a Mandela Day”
The MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Mrs Mathabo Leeto, will celebrate Mandela day in the Matjhabeng Local Municipality on 18 July 2015. As part of her contribution towards the spirit of giving in line the call by the late former President of South Africa, Mr Nelson Mandela, Mrs Leeto will handover blankets and food parcels to needy households to the communities of Allenridge (Nyakallong) and Odendaalsrus (Kutlwanong). With the winter season beginning to bite hard these gifts will come quite handy for these households.
The programme will unfold as follows:

Venue: Nyakallong Community Hall (Allenridge)

Venue: Roman Catholic Church (block 5), Kutlwanong/Odendaalsrus

President Jacob Zuma has declared this year as the Year of the Freedom Charter and Unity in Action. Government has called on all sectors of scoeity to come together and work for a better South Africa as we mark the 60th anniversary of the Charter.
The 2015 Nelson Mandela Day is therefore a call to action for the nation to work together for the continuous development of humanity through the attainment of basic freedom in line with this year’s message – “Take Action – Inspire Change – Make Everyday a Mandela Day”.
