The Limpopo Provincial Government will celebrate Human Right Day under theme “Celebrating Equal Human Rights For All 365 Days” and honour the memories of men and women who fought tirelessly to attain democracy and freedom.
To date, South Africa has been adversely affected by unsavoury practices and violation of human rights. Most of foreign owned shops in Ga-Sekgopo have been plundered by resentful communities and while some of them were burnt down. This is a clear indication of human rights violation especially-the right to property. Additionally, the South African Human Rights Commission has been established to promote respect, observance and protection of human rights for everyone without fear or favour.
Limpopo Provincial Government denounces the unlawful actions of those who are hell-bent on violating other’s rights by damaging their properties. Moreover, South Africa belongs to everyone who lives in it and this implies that even foreigners are entitled to live in South Africa and be protected by the law.
