Department to commemorate World Aids Day at Tembisa

Gauteng MEC for Health Hope Papo will on Saturday, 1 December 2012 lead a door to door awareness campaign in commemoration of World Aids Day in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni.

Under the theme safe sex for men and high risk groups, the event will focus on ways to alleviate the stigma of HIV and Aids and to work towards the pledge of a world without Aids.

The event also aims at creating awareness around the need for care and support to Aids patients and the affected families and to inform the community about prevention, treatment, care and support services available for people living with the disease.

Health care workers will be also be distributing condoms and educational materials such as pamphlets and stickers.
