The Minister of Energy, Ms Dipuo Peters will be hosting the Africa-EU Forum on 9 - 10 May 2012, at Cape Sun, in Cape Town, South Africa. The Forum will provide a platform to explore opportunities and potential synergies evolving from the participation of the stakeholder groups together with key political decision-makers.
The establishment of an Africa-EU Energy Partnership Forum (AEEP), including stakeholders from the private sector, civil society and research institutions, has long been an objective of the AEEP2.
So far, however, the AEEP has focused mainly on government level activities. The Forum aims to actively involve the private sector, Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs) and research, and to extend the scope of the partnership by bringing together all relevant stakeholders in order to achieve progress on the AEEP 2020 targets.
