Child Protection Week activities for the 1 and 2 June 2011

Fun Day for 200 children (four to five years) from Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centres and 50 care givers.

1 June 2011

Venue: Jim Summers Hall
Time: 11h00 - 14h00

The children are from the following ECD centres:

  • El Shaddai-John Daka
  • Inyaniso-Santa Centre
  • St Francis of Assisi-Roodepan
  • Commemoration-Galeshewe
  • Lesedi Centre-Florianville
Activities will include:
  • Story telling
  • Puppet show
  • Exercises
  • Song and dance
  • Face painting

MEC Alvin Botes will also be paying a visit to Senathando Children's Home and a Child Headed Household on 1 June 2011. This will take place after the Members of Executive Council Meeting, therefore it is difficult for us to provide you with time now.

2 June 2011

The department will be providing the Children Living on the Street with soup and bread in the parking lot opposite Shoprite and Woolworths in the CBD at 08h00 on the 2 June 2011.

In partnership with Flamingo Casino the department will be having a Kaoroake evening at Club 129 Flamingo Casino. The contestants will be required to sing songs that are related to protection of children and the love of Children (e.g We are the World, Heal the World).
