Chief of the South African Army medal parade

On Friday, 11 December 2009, at 09h00, the Chief of South Africa Army, Lieutenant General Solly Shoke, will host his medal parade at the South African Army headquarters, Pretoria, and parade ground to honour his members.

This parade represents an opportunity for the Chief of the South African Army to honour deserving members. Lieutenant General Shoke will present a number of notable medals to the recipients on parade, including the merit medal bronze (23), Tshumelo Ikatelaho (eight), good service medal (30 years) 11, good service medal (20 years) 34, good service medal bronze (10 years) four, general service medal (one), South African service medal (one), Unitas medal (one), good service medal silver (one), United Nation medal (one) and African medal (one).

You are invited to send a journalist and a photographer or cameraperson to attend the parade on Friday, 11 December 2009 at the South African Army headquarters, Dequar Road at 08h30 for 09h00.

You are furthermore requested to announce that there is going to be a big noise in the Lyttelton area due to the firing of a G1 88 millimetres gun on 10 December 2009 between 08h00 and 20h00 during the rehearsals and on 11 December 2009 between 19h00 and 20h00 at the gala evening of the Chief of the South African Army.
