Census 2011 partners with schools to ensure everyone is counted

Statistics South Africa invites members of the media to join Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga and Statistician-General Pali Lehohla at the launch of the Learner Ambassador Programme at Parktown High School for Girls on Monday, 10 October 2011.

The Learner Ambassador Programme seeks to mobilise both learners and teachers to ensure that every household in the country is counted during Census 2011. Learners will take the message of Census 2011 back to their dwellings and report whether their families have been counted to their teachers.

Enumerators will then check with the schools whether there are any households that have been missed, these households will be visited during the census mop-up period from November 1 to 13.

Members of the media are invited as follows:

Date:  10 October 2011
Time:  08h00 till 08h45
