The Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Derek Hanekom, will deliver a keynote address at a career day event organised by his department and the RGM School of Excellence in Daveyton, tomorrow from 9h00.
Over 300 learners, representing nine schools in the Daveyton area, are expected to attend this event, which will focus on promoting science, engineering and technology-related careers. A number of organisations including Turbomeca Africa, the Technology Innovation Agency, Mintek, Denel, the National Aerospace Centre and the South African Air Force will be exhibiting and on standby to offer career guidance and advice on opportunities offered by their organisations.
The RGM School of Excellence is a non-profit organisation that focuses on the empowerment of young people through education and career guidance, and provides supplementary Saturday classes in Mathematics and Science to learners in the Daveyton and Etwatwa areas.
