Consistent with development of engaged people's government MEC responsible for Finance, Economic Affairs, Environmental and Tourism; M Jonas, following his budget speech will host the 2010 budget speech breakfast in association with Imbizo Events Group will host the 2010 budget speech breakfast.
This high level information sharing colloquium will assess and contribute to some of the issues announced at the 2010 budget speech, while engaging the private sector on solutions that will take the Eastern Cape government successfully into 2010 and beyond.
South African Local Government Association (SALGA) will be playing a key role which will create a platform to discuss municipal budget spent and the way forward in creating financially viable municipalities and will be addressed by SALGA Chief Executive Officer, Mr Chris Magwangqana.
A morning session meeting themed: "A globally competitive province that works together with the people", will be hosted to provide a platform for all stakeholders, both in the private and public sectors, to share information about a plethora of challenges and issues facing the Eastern Cape as well as prevailing opportunities.
Senior government managers will attend the breakfast session from various provincial and local government departments in Eastern Cape, including municipalities such as the Nelson Mandela Bay municipality, Cacadu district municipality and Buffalo City etc.
Chief executive officers, heads of departments and Economic Development officials will also attend the meeting and other senior level leaders from various state owned enterprises, as well as top level representatives from large, medium and small organizations in the province.
