Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr Blade Nzimande, kindly invites members of the media to a briefing on the department’s preparations to support prospective students looking for admission into institutions of higher education and training in 2013.

Minister Nzimande’s briefing will include an update on the department’s Apply Now! Khetha campaign as well as the service the department will provide to prospective students through what will be known as the Clearing House.
The Clearing House is the first phase of the planned Central Applications System (CAS), and will provide support and guidance to Matric learners who have either not been accepted in the post-school institution they had applied to or those who will only start looking for places at the beginning of 2013.
The CAS, currently being developed as the National Information and Applications System (NIAS), will be implemented in its full applications for the 2014 student intake.
