Beyers Naude Schools Development Programme infrastructure launch

The Free State Department of Education in partnership with Kagiso Trust (KT) and Amalgamated Banks of South Africa (ABSA) will host infrastructure launches among five schools in QwaQwa, Thabo Mofutsanyane district.

Creating keen interest among learners in subjects such as mathematics and science is a key feature of this collaborative effort. The infrastructure launches will include the installation of media centres (which encompass a combination of a computer centre and a library) at Thlorong and Moteka Secondary Schools; refurbishing and equipping of the science laboratories at Thlorong, Moteka, Tsebo and Reahola Secondary Schools as well as a setting up of a fully equipped one of the many ways the Beyers Naude Schools Development Programme (BNDSP) is contributing towards equipping learners with vital skills as well as quality education.

Date: 4 September 2009
Venue: Thlorong Secondary School, Qwaqwa, Thabo Mofutsanyane district
Infrastructure: media centres and science laboratory
Time: 10h00 to 14h00

The BNDSP, in partnership with Dreamfields will also host a sports tournament and debate competition on 3 September 2009, as a way of motivating and encouraging learners, to participate in extra mural activities that are often completely absent in rural schools. All ten schools affiliated with the BNSDP in Qwaqwa will be awarded full soccer and netball kits.

Please be informed that Kagiso Trust will also host a stakeholders dinner on 3 September at Mont d’ Or Hotel, Spa and Conference Centre in Clarens.
