African Union Commission Chairperson and Minister Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma departs for Maputo to address the forthcoming Summit of the SADC Heads of State and Government

African Union Commission Chairperson and Minister Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will on Thursday 16 August 2012 depart for Maputo to attend and address the forthcoming Summit of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Heads of State and Government scheduled for Mozambique.

Minister Dlamini Zuma is expected to address the Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government in her capacity as the incoming Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission having been elected at the recent summit of the African Union Heads of State and Government held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 15 to 16 July 2012.

The attendance of Minister Dlamini Zuma at the summit also comes against the background of the regional nomination and support of her candidature for the post of AU Commission Chairperson by the SADC Heads of State and Government.

Minister Dlamini Zuma is expected to deliver her speech to the summit of the SADC Heads of State and Government on Friday 17 August 2012.
