Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi will this afternoon announce the adoption of the Nursing Compact and Road Map at the end of the three day nursing summit held in Sandton, Johannesburg. The summit was opend on Tuesday morning by President Jacob Zuma and is being attended by more than 2000 nurses from across the country.
Among the key issues contained in the Compact and Road Map are: Training of nurses, uniforms, quality improvement and values. Currently there nurses are training through various platforms such as universities and private nursing colleges leading to different standards.
The Nursing Compact and Roadmap will be a guiding document for the management of the nursing profession in South Africa.
