Acting Chief of Joint Operations Medal Parade

It is regretted that the annual Chief of Joint Operations medal parade scheduled for wednesday 2 November 2009 has been potsponed to next year.

The Acting Chief of Joint Operations, Major General Gerald Malinga, will on Wednesday, 2 December 2009, award members of the Joint Operations Division with various medals at a combined medal parade to be held at the Joint Operations Division, Swartkop Park in Valhalla. The parade will commence at 09h30 (guests and members of the media are requested to be seated by 09h15).

Medals that will be awarded during the parade include; the Reserve Force Emblem, Tshumelo Ikatelaho Medal and the African Union Medal (Burundi) amongst others. These medals are awarded to members who have selflessly served the South African National Defence Force with distinction and zeal.

Other medals to be presented during the combined medal parade include various service medals to members of the Joint Operations Division, Special Forces and the Reserve Force members.

You are cordially invited to send a cameraperson and or a journalist to attend and cover the event.
