The Department of Science and Technology (DST) in partnership with the University of Western Cape and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University is hosting the second nanoscience and nanotechnology summer school.
The vision for the school is to create a pool of nanoscientists sufficiently trained to conduct nanoscience research. The theme for 2011 is “Nanoscience Characterisation Techniques.”
The school offers an introductory course on the fundamentals of nanoscience and characterisation techniques applicable to this field for aspirant nanotechnologists. It also brings together experts in the field to present courses, covering topics in physics, chemistry, life sciences, advanced materials, characterisation and fabrication techniques.
The school in 2011 is targeting graduate students, postdoctoral and junior scientists interested in the nanoscience and nanotechnology fields.
