2010 National Brandhouse Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) Number One Taxi Driver Campaign

Department of Transport Director-General Mr George Mahlalela will deliver a keynote address at the 2010 National Brandhouse Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) number one taxi driver campaign prize giving ceremony.

The Brandhouse RTMC Number One Taxi Driver Campaign is a partnership between the private sector and the RTMC aimed at taxi drivers and taxi operators who are committed to putting road safety first which ultimately increases commuter safety.

This annual campaign also seeks to influence a positive attitude and behaviour on taxi drivers. The campaign has been running for six years and continues to educate and empower taxi drivers and other road users on road safety matters and highlights some of the following messages:

  • driver fatigue
  • disregard for traffic rules
  • un-roadworthiness of vehicles
  • high speed driving

Venue: Soweto Hotel, Walter Sisulu Square, Soweto

The gala evening will comprise of a price giving ceremony, where three of the nine finalists will each win one of the following prizes, whilst more prizes also stand to be won in other categories:

  • First prize: Toyota Ses'Fikile Quantum
  • Second prize: R25 000 cash
  • Third prize: R20 000 cash
