17 Squadron outreach programme

Thursday, 13 August 2009, will prove to be a very special day for children from all over Pretoria. The South African Air Force, 17 Squadron will fly to various schools and day care centres, with a mission of spreading goodwill and cheer.

Two Oryx helicopters from 17 Squadron will lift off from Swartkop airfield, laden with food parcels, toys, nappies, soccer balls and more. These will be delivered to schools and day care centres in the Pretoria area, which care for orphans, abused and abandoned children, and children suffering from HIV and AIDS.

The identified schools and day care centres are; the Sinoville Crisis Centre, Wonderboompoort Police Victim Empowerment centre, Lighthouse Community Centre in Bronkhorstspruit and two kids care and support trust centres in Cullinan.

This wonderful event is made possible by the generosity of a number of sponsors (IMAX, Galaxy World, Harley-Davidson Bikes, and Siyandiza).
